Terry L. Mount, Founder & Principal

Terry founded DSI in 2002 and has successfully developed over 32 properties comprised of more than 1,400 residential units. He has experience in architecture, construction management and real estate development in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. Terry is a past member of the Advisory Council to the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta and currently serves on the board of directors for the Alabama Council of Affordable and Rural Housing.

Prior to starting DSI, Terry worked with several nonprofit organizations developing housing in Alabama, South Carolina and Georgia. After college, he initially worked for an architectural firm and later went on to work in design and construction management for KinderCare Learning Centers and its affiliated companies. Terry was instrumental in helping KinderCare build out its coast to coast footprint during the 1980’s.

Terry’s education includes architecture at the University of Tennessee, a B.A. and a M.P.A. from Auburn University at Montgomery as well as various nonprofit development training programs.

Luke L. Chenault CPA, Controller

Luke joined DSI in October 2015 and is responsible for supporting principals in all financial matters, ensuring financial statements and policies are accurate, managing office and bookkeeping staff, underwriting transactions and collaborating with third party CPAs and legal counsel. Prior to joining DSI, Luke served as a Staff Accountant at Jeb Williamson CPA and CDPA, PC where he generated significant bookkeeping, tax and audit experience.

Luke graduated from the University of North Alabama in 2009 with honors with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Professional Accounting/Banking and Financial Services. He was also a member of UNA’s football team from 2005 to 2009. Luke is a native of Decatur, Alabama.

Monica Hill, Loan Administrator & Asset Management

Monica began her employment with DSI in May 2008 and is responsible for various bookkeeping functions and asset management for properties within DSI’s portfolio. She has an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice with meaningful experience in human resources and accounting. Prior to joining DSI, Monica gained exposure to development and construction business through her previous employment with Kellogg Brown & Root and Calpine Construction.
